The founder of ABUD (Afe Babalola) in his speech on Monday in Ado Ekiti  advised the government against waiting till all towns and villages are free of COVID19 before schools are reopened.

According to him, nobody is certain when the virus will leave ad current situations shows the virus is not leaving any time soon.
He said schools were hurriedly closed by the government March 23 when some pupils just started their exams and final year students were about to begin exams.
He listed conditions under which PRIVATE institutions can reopen within four weeks.
These conditions are; "The school must establish it has residential  accommodation for all the students including most, if not all the staff.
Parents shall give written undertaking supported with medical certificates that the student is fit to resume accademic work.
There should be at least three tanks at the gate where student can wash their hands. Student should be armed with sanitisers. There should be infrared thermometers at the gate so that anyone coming into the university can be tested by a nurse or a doctor.
The institution must have the following testing machine; polymerase chain reaction machine and serological test machine.
Every institution must be able to provide a building where they can accommodate any student suspected to have any infectious disease.
Every university must have two functional fumigation machines, and the school classroom, hostels, cafe, conference halls and sport facilities should be fumigated before resumption.
He also added that the school should have testing kits, nose masks, as it must be worn by students and staffs around the campus.
He also said final year students should resume first so they can take their final exams and vacate the school premises before other students resume.

This according to him, can also apply to public schools with slight changes.
