Ghanaian man pours hot water on his breastfeeding wife's breast in Enugu
A Ghanaian man, Emmanuel Opoku, has been arrested by men of the Enugu state police command for allegedly pouring hot water on the breasts of his nursing wife.
A women-based non-profit organization, WomenAids Collective WACOL who shared the sad story online, said the nursing mother with a three-month-old baby, was allegedly assaulted by Opoku after she asked him for money to purchase some food items. The group said Mr Opoku has been arrested and will be charged to court on Monday, July 14 while the battered wife has been taken to the hospital where she is receiving medical attention.
The organization pleads with Nigerians to report any suspected cases of violence against women and children, in order to end the impunity of violence against women and girls in the society.
