JUSTICE FOR RAPE

The recent  news on twitter regarding rape got me thinking so I decided to share.

Rack in school, my roommate's and I would gather together once in a while and share some of our past experiences good or bad. There was one of us who shared a very sensitive topic with us. She said that at the early age of five, she was raped. When she was asked by whom she hesitated at first but finally she said by an uncle her father's brother to be exact.
And according to her this went on for a while. The funny part was that it took place in her father's house. The uncle would come to visit then rape her. Her parents were too busy to notice or care.
She said she tried telling her mom but she was scared and ashamed. The .rape continued till she was about 9 years old.
She did not tell us how it stopped but she said after some years, she was able to tell her mom.

There are many rape victims who are suffering like she did scared to speak up for either fear of the rapist or what society may think. The truth is keeping silent gives the rapist opportunity to rape the victim a second time. Aside that, there is this satisfaction you get from sharing.
Once she was done sharing her story with us she said she felt happy that someone cared. One could imaging the trauma she suffered for those years with nobody to talk to. It's true the government may have failed to carry our their duties accordingly, there might be injustice in the system. But there is justice in speaking.
Speak out don't give room to be raped a second time. Don't be ashamed it is not you who violated a  person. Share it with someone. Someone who is able to feel what you feel and give you the mental support you need. Refuse to be violated physically and mentally at the same time.

Please spread this message you don't know if someone might need it. Someone who needs to know I care, you care, we care.

A twittet user calls for justice over 18 year old rape victim

A Twitter user calls for justice in Nigeria police system. According to her, an 18 year old girl was drugged and  raped by 5 of her friends in Narayi, Kaduna. 2 of the boys  are currently in the police jail, while the remaining 3 are being hidden by their parents . The Twitter user also said that police have been extorting money from the victim's parent on claim to bring the offenders to justice.
The story says that the parents of the suspect's are trying to bribe the parents of the girl so that the case can be closed like nothing ever happened.
People who claim to know her on Twitter, said she has been traumatised for weeks since the ordeal.
It is really sad to know that rape has become rampant in Nigeria and this is because the system has failed to practice justice.

Bishop Oyedepo declears doors to churches ooen anyone against it will die for it

The senior pastor of living faith church Bishop David Oyedepo has expressed deep concern against the closure of churches across the nation's due to the corona virus pandemic
He kicked against the idea of opening markets but churches remain closed.

In his speech at the church's headquarter in Otta Ogun state he said
"The  doors to churches across the nation's are now declared open this morning. Can I tell you this? Hunger kills faster than any virus that will ever visit the earth.

It kills silently. There is no vaccine for hunger there is no medical solution to hunger. Hunger has no treatment and spiritual famine is much more devstating.

Boyfriend prays girlfriend finds a good husband

I attend a birthday party of one of the commissioner's  daughter in Ibadan late last year.
Het boyfriend was present, his friends, her friends, friend of her friends and the circle continues.
It got to the point where we were to say something about her and pray for her.
Everybody spoke and her boyfriend was last to speak. We all were curious to hear what he would say. The normal thing every guy would say will be"i will love you forever, we will  have beautiful children, we will  never break up" and so on .
But this gentleman surprised us and said
"I pray you find a husband who will love you for you".
After everything was over she met my sister and I, and told us she was upset with what her boyfriend said that he embarassed her.
At first I was mad at what he did and even adviced het to leave his sorry ass.
But when i sat down to think i realized what he did was right.
Instead of giving force hope and making empty promises he stated fact.
A fact every relationship must learn to embrace. Your current boyfriend in most cases is not whom your future is paired with. Your first love might not be your last

DISABILITY

Disability, to some is weakness, a reason to fail, an excuse to shortcuts.
The question is what then is disability?
Disability is not just being disabled, it goes beyond that. Disability is a bridge between you and your goals.
Disability can be managed but the real question is
Are you willing to take charge?
Do you want to be known as someone with a challenge or as an influencer?
Do you want to be a role model, or a charity case?
If the answer is YES then act now.
If you are unable to walk physically, rise mentally.
If you are blind physically, see logically.
F you are unable to speak, write.
If you are unable to hear, feel.
The bridge between you and your success  is you.
Don't blame your set-back on your disability. Like the saying goes "the journey to success  begins with one step".
Take that step now, see the ability behind that disability.
Ability is not just what you can do. It is the power to influence in the midst of disability.
It is the impact one makes.
It is crossing the bridge between you and your success.
Disability is not an excuse, the inability to think is.
