It's no surprise thst women are celebrated internationally today. Time has shown that women play a vital role in societal development. Women have been known to play a significant role in history. Every critical and complex situations have been handled by very talented and goal driven women. Women whose voice have brought about change. Women who have fought to make the world a better place.Women who amidst men single handedly took the bull by the horns and enacted the change. In history classes, there is no history without Mary Slessor who sucessfuly stopped the killing of twins. Flora Shaw, Lady Lugard. Who intellectually coined the name Nigeria. Moremi of Ife who risked her life, married the enemy in order to save her people. Mother Teresa, who was known for her kind heart and good deeds.
There are lots of women who have writen history with their own hands and many who are yet to write. In our present day, we speak of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. A woman who despite all odds, stood out to be the best. There are many women of great value who have done what men failed to do in this present age.
Being a woman isn't a limitation or a set back. It is an opportunity. An opportunity to prove yourself, to show the world what you have to offer. To be the best and never give up. To weather the storm, climb the highest mountains and soar high. It's in this light, Michelle Obama says "There is no limit to what women can accomplish".
If you are a woman, stand tall, sit upright, raise your head high and do what women do best.
